How Many Deaths are Caused by Doctors and Hospitals?

Preventable American Deaths Yearly

435,000 Tobacco
365,000 Poor Diet and Physical Inactivity
Dr MalPractice - More Common than You Thought

Dr MalPractice - More Common than You Thought

100,000 – 200,000 Medical Error Deaths

Estimates range from 40,000 to 98,000 to 200,000

Iatrogenic” means Doctor caused Deaths

“A handful” = The number of doctors removed from the Medical field because they caused a patient death. (The actual numbers are unknown because the AMA seems to take great efforts to hide this information.)

Nocosomial” means Hospital Caused Deaths

“Never Events” are inexcusable outcomes in a health care setting (e.g. surgery on wrong body part)

85,000 Alcohol
75,000 Microbial Agents
55,000 Toxic Agents

33,000 (2009) Motor Vehicle Deaths

32,000 Adverse Prescription Drug Reactions
30,622 Suicide
29,000 Incidents Involving Firearms

20,308 Murder
20,000 Sexual Behaviors
17,000 Illicit Drug Use, Direct and Indirect

7,600 Anti-Inflammatory Drugs (Aspirin)
00,000 Marijuana (that’s right – Zero.)

So to summarize – there is no disagreement among experts that at the very least some 40,000 Americans Die of Medical Malpractice every year (and more likely 200,000) and yet only “a handful” of doctors are ever removed from the field.

Doesn’t it seem more reasonable that every doctor that causes any of those 200,000 deaths should be permanently removed from medical practice?

This is dramatic evidence the American Medical establishment does not voluntarily police its deadly doctors. Instead of going after the murderous doctors, the AMA’s “top legislative priority” is halting and minimizing claims from victims of those doctors.
