Dr. Todd Rider: Inventor of DRACO – Virus Killer<\/strong><\/p><\/div>\n New drug could cure nearly any viral infection<\/a><\/p>\n “Experimental drug could defeat any virus<\/a>”<\/p>\n This appears to be as radical an improvement for human health as penicillin<\/a> was to bacteria.<\/p>\n Here’s how it works.<\/p>\n “Nearly every virus generates strings of double-stranded RNA longer than 30 base pairs during transcription and replication.<\/a>”<\/p>\n Theres a natural enzyme called PKR<\/strong> that grabs RNA<\/strong> (double-stranded RNA) longer than 23 base pairs and binds to it.<\/p>\n Researcher Todd Rider<\/strong> of the MIT’s Lincoln Laboratory “glued” a protein that triggers cell suicide called APAF-1 (apoptotic protease activating factor 1 ) to the PKR<\/strong>.<\/p>\n The compound is called DRACO – standing for Double-stranded RNA<\/strong> (dsRNA)-activated caspase oligomeriser.<\/p>\n Rider “tested the drug against 15 viruses, and found it was effective against all of them \u2014 including rhinoviruses that cause the common cold, H1N1 influenza, a stomach virus, a polio virus, dengue fever and several other types of hemorrhagic fever.”<\/a><\/p>\n I predict you will not only be hearing about this a lot, but that you will be using it within 10 years to stop colds and apparently viral kinds of cancer.<\/p>\n However, Viruses are not always harmful.
