<a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Sultan_bin_Salman_Al_Saud\">Prince Sultan bin Salman al-Saud<\/a>, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"\" title=\"&quot;Earth\" src=\"http:\/\/daviddilworth.com\/pol\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/09\/earth-from-orbit-500x312.jpg\" alt=\"Earth From Orbit, Credit: NASA\" width=\"677\" height=\"422\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong>You and I are made of Stardust. <\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Literally. <\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Really.<\/strong><\/p>\n<div style=\"width: 260px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" title=\"Star Explosion\" src=\"http:\/\/web.archive.org\/web\/20130718121510\/http:\/\/www.themoneytimes.com\/filess\/exploding%20star.jpg\" alt=\"Star Explosion\" width=\"250\" height=\"202\" \/><p class=\"wp-caption-text\"><strong>Star Explosion<\/strong><\/p><\/div>\n<p><strong>Every atom making up our bodies was formed when a star exploded.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>It took a long, long, looong time for all those star-made atoms to coalesce into molecules. <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>It took even longer for those molecules to organize into self-replicating strands of DNA &#8211; that ended up growing into the thoughtful human reading this.<\/p>\n<p><strong>And that didn&#8217;t happen anywhere else in the Universe that we know of.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Looking out from our planet to the heavens, as far as we can see in every direction, there is <i>no other place where we can safely live<\/i>. <\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Nowhere else.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>There is no known planet or any other place that has an atmosphere we can breathe, temperatures we can endure; no other place where we can eat food that naturally grows there or drink fresh water at room temperature.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Looking down on our planet from the orbital height of the International Space Station, you can see the extraordinarily thin, onion skin-thin, layer of air on our planet where we can live without spacesuits; That&#8217;s 70 percent of our Planet&#8217;s surface !<br \/>\n<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Too high in the Himalayas and we die from lack of oxygen in the air.<br \/>\n<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Even though we can breathe there, our Planet&#8217;s Poles are too cold to live in sustainably, and our Deserts are too hot. Because if we don&#8217;t &#8211; there is zero scientific doubt that humans will die as a species &#8211; forever.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Or as\u00a0<strong class=\"StrictlyAutoTagBold\">Astronaut <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Edgar_Mitchell\">Edgar Mitchell<\/a><\/strong> described seeing our Earth from our Moon &#8212;<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><strong>\u201cYou develop an instant global consciousness, a people orientation, an intense dissatisfaction with the state of the world, and a compulsion to do something about it. From out there on the moon, international politics look so petty.&#8221;<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>&#8220;You want to grab a politician by the scruff of the neck and drag him a quarter of a million miles out and say, \u2018Look at that, you son of a bitch.\u201d<\/strong><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><strong>We are extremely, extraordinarily fortunate to be here on the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.com\/Operating-Manual-Spaceship-Buckminster-Fuller\/dp\/3037781262\/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&amp;qid=1389592829&amp;sr=8-1&amp;keywords=spaceship+earth\">Spaceship Earth<\/a> and to be organized into this living form.
