The <strong class='StrictlyAutoTagBold'>City Editor<\/strong> has responsibility for all local stories.<\/p>\n<p>He can block stories if he wants. <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/daviddilworth.com\/pol\/part-ii-livernois-the-slanderer-bully\/\">(Livernois is known for his admitted disgust with the public speaking at government meetings.)<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>When I raised the issue that <a href=\"http:\/\/1hope.org\/HERALDCENSORSHIPWATER.PDF\">the <strong>Herald\u2019s Letter editor was refusing to allow letters or commentaries on the \u201cRight-Sized\u201d water project<\/strong><\/a>, Livernois asked if I was referring to the Water Management District&#8217;s project. I said yes, and <strong>Livernois responded<\/strong> &#8211; (as though it were true) &#8220;<strong>we&#8217;ve written about that<\/strong>.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>(A subsequent Internet search of the Herald&#8217;s articles shows that Livernois was &#8220;mistaken.&#8221; <strong>The Herald has never written about <a href=\"http:\/\/1hope.org\/waterpuc.htm\">the Primary project by our Water Management agency in the 7 years since the project was created.<\/a>)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>I continued with my point about the refusal to print our commentary when Livernois interrupted with &#8211; but &#8220;you are known for getting your facts wrong.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Stunned, I turned to Livernois and asked him to <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>name one<\/strong>.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>He stammered &#8230; and eventually said <strong>he didn\u2019t have any at his fingertips, but insisted there were plenty.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>I followed up \u2013 &#8220;Just <strong>name a single instance in any of the hundreds of issues I\u2019ve worked on that I got a single fact wrong.<\/strong>&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Livenoise just mumbled and stayed quiet from the remainder of the meeting.<\/p>\n<p>Of course <strong>Livernois couldn&#8217;t come up with anything<\/strong> because:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>1. I take pains to make sure I get my vital facts right, and<\/p>\n<p>2. If I do make an error &#8211; I admit it and make corrections.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>(For example: In preparing this article I did make a mistake and called the Herald Publisher and President &#8220;Eric Orme.&#8221; His correct name is <strong class='StrictlyAutoTagBold'>Gary Omernick<\/strong>. I also have this correction listed below.)<\/p>\n<p>Soon after, the meeting concluded, I left <a href=\"http:\/\/1hope.org\/GREED=ENEMY.PDF\">HOPE&#8217;s Commentary on \u201cRight-Sized\u201d water supply solution <\/a>with <strong class='StrictlyAutoTagBold'>Herald President Omernick<\/strong> asking that it be published.<\/p>\n<p>In the two years since, <strong class='StrictlyAutoTagBold'>HOPE<\/strong> has never heard back from President Omernick, or anyone at the Herald about the commentary.
