How much longer before everyone catches on to Bill Kampe\u2019s harmful intent and acts?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Kampe\u2019s bad acts are now affecting our greater Peninsula community.<\/strong><\/p>\n

On a major water and development issue<\/strong><\/em> Kampe just cast a key vote against<\/span> County \u00a0Supervisor Jane Parker (by far the most public interest minded Supervisor in the past 30 years)\u00a0<\/em><\/strong> and for Sand City Mayor\u00a0David Pendergrass<\/span> (the Peninsula’s most pro-development elected official).<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

“The board in January split 6-6 between Pendergrass and progressive Supervisor Jane Parker for the important committee. Supervisor Dave Potter, who was absent previously, voted for Pendergrass, and Pacific Grove Mayor Bill Kampe switched his vote to the Sand City mayor<\/strong>.<\/a>” -Monterey Herald, “FORA<\/strong> lawyer quits, saying job isn’t fun anymore” March 15, 2013<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Do not mistake Kampe’s vote for that of a merely\u00a0<\/strong>uninformed\u00a0novice. He knew exactly what he was doing. Kampe fully intended to block Jane Parker so developers could have a vast majority on the Water Board – and get as much water for development as they can.<\/p>\n

If Kampe\u2019s bad direction goes unrecognized and unchecked much longer \u2013 he could end up doing a lot more harm to our environment and participatory democracy than you can imagine. He’s not as lazy as Potter, so he has the potential to make <\/strong>Potter’s bad acts look amateurish.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Remember Kampe was in Marketing \u2013 he knows how to make black look white.<\/strong><\/p>\n

He did the impossible in getting Thom Akeman<\/strong> to run his campaign, then gleefully signed the tree destruction ordinance. That undermined a lot of Thom’s effort to protect Pacific Grove<\/strong> trees on the Natural Resources Committee<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

I can only hope President Lincoln<\/strong> was right \u2013 \u201cyou can\u2019t fool all the people all the time.<\/strong>\u201d<\/p>\n
