{"id":606,"date":"2011-03-22T08:04:31","date_gmt":"2011-03-22T15:04:31","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/dilworth2lead.com\/blogpol\/?p=606"},"modified":"2015-04-26T10:23:47","modified_gmt":"2015-04-26T17:23:47","slug":"obama-starts-war-with-libya-peace-prize-should-be-revoked","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/daviddilworth.com\/pol\/obama-starts-war-with-libya-peace-prize-should-be-revoked\/","title":{"rendered":"Obama Starts War with Libya &#8211; Peace Prize Should Be Revoked"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong><center>Actions Speak Louder Than Words<\/center><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/2011_Libyan_uprising\">US President Barak Obama started a War with Libya on Sunday March 19, 2011.<\/a><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.msnbc.msn.com\/id\/42164455\/ns\/world_news-mideastn_africa\/?gt1=43001\">At first the President Obama fired 110 Tomahawk Cruise-missiles on Libya, then on Monday a US fighter jet crashed in Libya.<\/a><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.washingtonpost.com\/todays_paper\/A%20Section\/2011-03-21\/A\/13\/14.0.1882457666_epaper.html\">Libyan media reported that 48 people were killed; &#8220;mostly children&#8221; and three times that many were injured.<\/a> <strong class='StrictlyAutoTagBold'>Associated Press<\/strong> reports that during rescue of the downed fighter pilots, <a href=\"http:\/\/hosted2.ap.org\/APDefault\/*\/Article_2011-03-22-AF-Libya\/id-4e28fab42d0643c19d674b363a768bce\">a US aircraft fired on and severely injured 6 Libyan civilians assisting the pilots.<\/a><br \/>\n<!--more--><br \/>\nAfghanistan Irony:<a href=\"http:\/\/www.boston.com\/news\/nation\/washington\/articles\/2009\/12\/10\/obama_will_speak_to_irony_of_winning_peace_prize_in_wartime\/\">President Obama sent 30,000 more troops to Afghanistan just a week before he was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in 2009.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Pakistan Secret Cowardly War: President Obama has engaged in a secret war in Pakistan that is publicly opposed by the Pakistan government. Obama is using the cowardly un-manned drones firing bombs and missiles that are controlled from thousands of miles away at Nevada&#8217;s Nellis Air Force Base.<\/p>\n<p>While I understand there are legitimate reasons for a country to engage in war, all those reasons are for <U>defensive<\/u> purposes. <\/p>\n<p>I am appalled that Libyan government is using extreme violence against civilians. Nevertheless &#8212;  as <a href=\"http:\/\/www.washingtonpost.com\/opinions\/gen-wesley-clark-has-rules-for-us-interventions-libya-doesnt-meet-them\/2011\/03\/09\/ABu5jrQ_story.html\">retired US General Wesley Clark advised just days before the US Invasion of Libya &#8220;Libya doesn\u2019t meet the test for U.S. military action.&#8221;<\/a><\/p>\n<p>In sharp contradiction to all those time-honored reasons President Obama has acted as a war aggressor in Afghanistan, Pakistan and now <strong class='StrictlyAutoTagBold'>Libya<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>While I and many tens of millions of others around the world were relieved to have President Bush&#8217;s term finish, I may have been temporarily blinded to the fact that President Obama believes aggressive, invasive, non-defensive War is legitimate.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Electing Obama was is just &#8220;Trading One War Monger for Another&#8221; &#8211; Tim Gatto<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>I urge the <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Norwegian_Nobel_Committee\">Norwegian Nobel Committee<\/a> revoke Obama&#8217;s Peace Prize.<\/p>\n<p>In fact <a href=\"http:\/\/web.archive.org\/web\/20110612152851\/http:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/article.php?id=D9B7MB401&amp;show_article=1\">Obama has even publicly acknowledged that he felt he did not deserve the award.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>It is time to have the award returned so it does not dishonor those who legitimately deserved that accolade.
