(<strong>Are you sure that odd Facebook message is from your best friend ?<\/strong> . . . )<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.newscientist.com\/article\/mg21228386.200-software-to-investigate-cybercrimes-social-side.html\">http:\/\/www.newscientist.com\/article\/mg21228386.200-software-to-investigate-cybercrimes-social-side.html<\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>9.<\/strong> *\u00a0<strong>Facebook Helps the CIA Censor You &#8211; Without Any Reason<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong>Facebook reads and will censor anything you write they don&#8217;t like.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;<strong>Facebook Deletes Cindy Sheehan&#8217;s Invite to CIA Drone Protest<\/strong>&#8221;<br \/>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/www.freerepublic.com\/focus\/f-bloggers\/2420383\/posts\">http:\/\/www.freerepublic.com\/focus\/f-bloggers\/2420383\/posts<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Opinion: Facebook could easily fix every one of these outrages &#8211; but they refuse to.<\/p>\n<p>After learning about <strong>this avalanche of serious, irreversible and potentially deadly harms<\/strong>\u00a0(systematically with full understanding &#8211; intentionally helping Burglars and Stalkers and letting the <strong class=\"StrictlyAutoTagBold\">FBI<\/strong> and CIA snoop on innocent people) that could be easily fixed &#8211; it becomes an inescapable conclusion to me that <strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Facebook is evil<\/span><\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>And it gets worse &#8211;<\/p>\n<p><strong>10<\/strong>. <strong class=\"StrictlyAutoTagBold\">Copyright Theft<\/strong> (you can&#8217;t get an account unless <a href=\"http:\/\/opinion.latimes.com\/opinionla\/2009\/07\/facebook-can-use-your-pictures-for-ads-no-permission-required.html\">you agree to let Facebook them use everything you write and all your photographs &#8211; for free <\/a>! ), that includes their theft of your most Personal messages and copyrighted images.<\/p>\n<p>Facebook forces you to give them rights for everything you put on the site or send using the site: <strong>your photographs and all your (potentially very) personal messages &#8211; could be used commercially by Facebook without paying you for their use.<\/strong> They could also be twisted or used against you in court by anyone Facebook decides to <s>give<\/s> sell them to !<\/p>\n<p><strong>LA Times commentary &#8220;<a href=\"http:\/\/opinion.latimes.com\/opinionla\/2009\/07\/facebook-can-use-your-pictures-for-ads-no-permission-required.html\">Facebook can use your pictures for ads, no permission required<\/a>&#8220;<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>You can&#8217;t use Facebook unless you hand over your rights to your photos and your most secret thoughts. But to understand what they are taking &#8211; you have to be a lawyer. Here&#8217;s how it works:<\/p>\n<p>Facebook adamantly asserts that &#8212;<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>&#8220;Anyone who uses Facebook <strong>owns and controls the content and information they post<\/strong>.&#8221; &#8211; Facebook<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>What they viciously do not want you to understand is that when you sign up &#8211; &#8220;<em><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>They Own it Too<\/strong><\/span><\/em>&#8221; ! \u00a0So it doesn&#8217;t matter if you own it &#8211; because they can sell it or trade it to the <strong class=\"StrictlyAutoTagBold\">FBI<\/strong> or <strong class=\"StrictlyAutoTagBold\">NSA<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Here are their terms as of July 2013<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>&#8220;You own all of the content and information you post on Facebook, and you can control how it is shared through your privacy and application settings.&#8221;<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>That&#8217;s fine, but then Facebooks adds this &#8212;<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>&#8220;For <strong>content<\/strong> that is <strong>covered by intellectual property rights<\/strong>, like photos and videos (dd: and\u00a0<strong>all of your writing or accidental rants<\/strong>), <strong>you specifically give us the following permission<\/strong>, subject to your privacy and application settings:<br \/>\n<strong>you grant us a non-exclusive, transferable (dd: This means they can give it, or far more likely sell it to FBI, CIA or NSA or Monsanto), sub-licensable, royalty-free, worldwide license to use any IP content that you post<\/strong> on or in connection with Facebook (<strong class=\"StrictlyAutoTagBold\">IP<\/strong> License).<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>That means <strong>Facebook OWNs Your WORDs and YOUR PHOTOs as soon as you post them &#8211; for Free !<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Then here&#8217;s their &#8220;Get Stuffed&#8221; attitude if you don&#8217;t want them to use your photos or your writing :<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><strong>&#8220;&#8230; you understand that we may use them without any obligation to compensate you for them . . .&#8221;<\/strong><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>The LA Times exposed this recently &#8220;<a href=\"http:\/\/opinion.latimes.com\/opinionla\/2009\/07\/facebook-can-use-your-pictures-for-ads-no-permission-required.html\">Facebook can use your pictures for ads, no permission required<\/a>&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Here on my website and most other websites &#8211; you keep the copyright to everything you write &#8211; just as I do for what I write.<\/p>\n<p>Next, Permanent Serious threats of &#8211;<\/p>\n<p><strong>11. Bullying Encouragement<\/strong><\/p>\n<blockquote><p>&#8220;<em><strong>Facebook is a hotbed for cyberbullying<\/strong><\/em>&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;In March 2010, a <strong>17 year old girl<\/strong> named <strong class=\"StrictlyAutoTagBold\">Alexis Skye Pilkington<\/strong> was <strong>found dead<\/strong> in her room by her parents. Her parents claimed that after repeated cyber-bullying she was driven to suicide.&#8221;<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Cyber-bullying\">http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Cyber-bullying<\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>12. Facebook &#8220;Like buttons&#8221; track your browsing even when you aren\u2019t logged in.
